ELA & Math Curriculum Mapping

Many school districts struggle with inconsistent curriculum delivery in ELA and math, leading to misaligned instruction and assessment across grade levels, creating learning gaps and limitations to student achievement.

The Problem

Curriculum mapping allows districts to clearly articulate academic priorities for ELA and math by aligning the Indiana Academic Standards, adopted curricular resources, and systems of assessment. These curriculum maps create consistency among classrooms and between grade levels ensuring vertical and horizontal articulation by clearly communicating pacing, resources, assessment, curricular elements, and the scope and sequence of skills for each grade level. Transformative professional development sessions empower teachers to make choices while utilizing the expertise of our team to carry out the heavy lifting.

“This was a nice, non-threatening way to go through curriculum mapping. It didn't require a lot of work on our part, but it was nice to be part of this process so we can understand the big picture of what we are teaching in each class plus what is being prioritized in the prior grades as well. I enjoyed being part of this process."
